Saturday morning 7:30 am Alan turns up to mine, after unloading his bike and kitting up we were set to go for 8:15, after a few technical issues with the Garmin getting confused as to what direction we taking at the start we finally leave at 8:30, at this point the sun is shining, all be it a little fresh but looking like it is going to be a really nice day. We set of with a really good pace averaging around 21-22 mph feeling good within no time we were in Kings Lynn not fancying playing chicken on the A47 we went through town. Traffic was starting to build but there was no easy route past.

As we continue we get to 60 miles legs are getting tired I had run out of food and water at this point, now back in the countryside trying to find a shop or open pub was proving difficult. I'm starting to struggle to keep a decent pace now, 10 miles and 2 brief stops later we find a village store refuelled and rehydrated we continue. Feeling good again now we continued pushing to the end, looking at the distance left we decide that it would be good to try and finish it in 5 hrs 30 mins meaning we needed to average 18 mph. Then it struck me CRAMP 20 miles left feeling like I may have to stop competently, 10 mins of stretching it out and I manage to continue now wishing the we had stuck to the original pace of 18 mph and not gone all out for the first 20 miles at 21 mph. With the last five miles upon us Alan is off trying to make the 5 hrs 30 min, I try everything I've got to keep up but cant he's just getting further and further away from me, finally getting back to mine in 5 hrs 31 mins 29 seconds I get here about 60 seconds later glad its over.
Would I do it again??? Defiantly just will be a little more prepared and wont go so mad at the start.
